This guide describes how you create a customized folder view in Windchill. The advantage of creating your own folder views is that you can choose to show only the information that is of interest to you. You can set up filter criteria to show open Change Notices, latest documents, certain attributes of an object type etc.

9. Step 7. Set Sorting This step is optional when creating folder views. Here you can set the automatic sorting of your view. Click Finish .

13. Final Tips Save a column width by adjusting it manually and the click then Save icon

5. Step 3. Set Name Set the name and description for the new view. In this example we will create a view that shows only the latest WTParts that have been released . If you are logged in as an administrator you can choose to share the view with all users by checking the Share with all users -checkbox. Click Next when you are done.

12. Final Tips Modify a view by clicking the pen icon in the Customization menu. The UI looks the same as when creating a new view Hold the cursor over the top row of a column to display column information

8. Step 6. Set Column Display Choose which attributes to show in the view by selecting the in the list Available Columns and moving them to Selected Columns using the arrow button. Have in mind that you can only select attributes which belong the the chosen object type. Only the common object attributes are available if you have chosen multiple object types. Click Next .

7. Step 5. Set Filter This step is optional when creating folder views. Here you may add Filter Criteria for the chosen object type/types. In this example we will add a fi lter to only show the latest parts in state Released . Select a criteria in the drop-down menu and click Add . Modify the values and click Next when you are done.
