This guide describes what to do when Java applets are unable to launch from Windchill with resulting Java-error, which could occur due to security updates in Java.

PTC is working on reducing the number of Java applets in Windchill, but here are some examples of pages that require Java to open (depends on Windchill version):
- Policy Administration
- Manage Global Attributes
- Lifecycle Administration

3. Step 1 – Check that your Windchill version supports your current Java version: 1.   Open a browser and go to support.ptc.com 2.   Log in with your PTC account 3.   Go to Resources > Platform Support 4.   Expand the node By Product 5.   Select your version of PTC Windchill XX.X Software Matrices in the list 6.   Click the attachment in the article 7.   Scroll down to section Client Platform Support 8.   Make sure your Java version suits you Windchill version 9.   If the Java version is not supported – uninstall it and install a supported version (check with your IT if you have other programs utilizing Java)
