This document describes what configuration files is used by Creo Parametric and where to find the active configuration files in use for when upgrading or installing a new version of Creo Parametric and also what search-paths Creo are using.

The purpose of this guide is to bring knowledge were to find the configuration files used by Creo Parametric and learn what they do. This is needed if you install Creo Parametric on a new machine or upgrading to a new version of Creo Parametric.

4. System information • Installation Directory and Startup directory is important when you configure your new installation. By clicking on properties on the start icon you can set Startup Directory (start in) to prefeared search path

7. System information • Auxiliary applications , there might be extra applications installed with Creo such as; Keyshot , FloEFD , POS - Assigner etc. - They are all registred under auxiliary applications and needs to be reinstalled in case of a new installation of Creo Parametric .

2. Find out what configuration files you are using The purpose of this guide is to bring knowledge were to find the configuration files used by Creo Parametric and learn what they do. This is needed if you install Creo Parametric on a new machine or upgrading to a new version of Creo Parametric. • The easiest way to see what configuration files you are using is to look under system information in Creo Parametric Note that you can save this file to disk as a text - file so its easy to access this information later.

5. System information • Configuration files , make sure to copy out all the configuration files you are using and copy them to your new installation to the same place as before . Here is some examples on what kind of files is in use . Note! There are often more then one config.pro in use , make sure to copy them all.

3. System information • The first information that is important is finding out what license server that are in use , this is found under license information. This is needed when installing your new software. Example : 7788 @ localhost 7788 = port number localhost = hostname for the machine that is running the license server.

6. Creo Parametric loadpoints • Configuration files , are read in general from three locations 1. Text - directory (< Loadpoint > \ text) eg. 2. Startup directory The ”start in” folder for Creo Parametric is automatically set to the working directory and this is where filesare saved and opened from per default. Note ! If there are config.pro in the Startup directory with different settings than the config.pro in < Loadpoint > \ text , the config.pro in the Startup directory will trumf the config.pro 3. Creo - cache , here are the location of : - Windchill PDMLink - cache - Personal user interface configuration file ( creo_parametric_customization.ui ) Default location is : Note ! To configure the location of the cache set environment variable PTC_WF_ROOT eg. % appdata % \ PTC \ ProENGINEER \ Wildfire \ . wf C: \ PTC \ Creo 5.0.4.0 \ Common Files \ text

8. Creo configuration file names Configurration File name Function config.pro configuration name < filename >. dmt User specific material appearence file pro_colormap_path < filename >. dtl Setup file used by drawings , formats, and layouts. drawing_setup_file, format_setup_file color.map User specific material appearence file (pre Creo Parametric ) config.pro Configuration options file , can be placed in text - folder and startup - folder config.sup Superior configuration options file , shall be placed under <text folder>, overrides config.pro config.win Interface configuration (pre Creo Parametric ) creo_parametric_customization.ui Interface configuration file , placed under < user cache> creo_parametric_admin_customization.ui Superior Interface configuration , shall be placed under <text folder>, overrides creo_parametric_customization.ui menu_def.pro Default menu options file (pre Creo Parametric ) search.pro Search.pro is an editable text configuration file that contains relative and absolute paths to search for models search_path_file syscol.scl System Colors configuration file system_colors_file table.pnt Pen table file for configurating linethickness, color etc for prints tree.cfg Model tree configuration file mdl_tree_cfg_file • For a complete list of Creo Parametric file extensions and explanations: CS232858 • Further info how Creo Parametric retrieve config.pro options at startup: CS28227 • Documentation of all config.pro options list for Creo Parametric : CS79007
