When you create a standard hole in Creo Parametric there are a few default tables. It is easy to add a customized table to suit your needs and there are two ways of adding a hole table.

4. 1. Creating a Customized Hole Table Open the hole table you created in a text editor, preferably Notepad++, and edit the the name after THREAD_SERIES. This is the name displayed in Creo Parametric. You may now edit the fi le as you wish and add the hole diameters you need. Save the fi le when you are done. Example:

Creating a Customized Hole Table Firstly we need to create a new hole table (a . hol - fi le) and the easiest way to do so is to copy an existing one from the default hole folder in the Creo installation. Go to: {installation of Creo}/Creo 3.0/{datecode}/Common Files/text/hole Create a copy of one of the existing hole tables and rename it. Example:

8. 2. Make Creo Read the File Save the con fi g.pro fi le. Restart Creo Parametric to re-read you con fi g.pro and read your customized hole table.

5. 2. Make Creo Read the File You can either save the fi le in the default hole folder for your Creo installation or save it at a location of your own choice and point it out in your con fi g.pro . If you leave choose to save your customized hole table in the default hole folder, please make sure that this folder is not overwritten by any start script for Creo. !

Customizing a Hole Table in Creo Parametric When you create a standard hole in Creo Parametric there are a few default tables: •   ISO •   UNC •   UNF It is easy to add a customized table to suit your needs and there are two ways of adding a hole table. Either you add one to the default Hole-folder in your Creo installation, or you add a con fi g.pro -option that points out the full path to your customized hole-table. This guide describes how it is done.

7. 2. Make Creo Read the File Go to the location of your con fi g.pro and open it in a text editor. Add the con fi g-option: hole_parameter_ fi le_path {full path to your customized hole table fi le} Example:

6. 2. Make Creo Read the File If you want to choose the location of your customized fi le then you need to point it out in your con fi g.pro . Start by fi nding out where your con fi g.pro - fi le is stored. Start Creo Parametric and go to: File > Help > System Information Scroll down to Con fi guration fi les read.
