This page is a help and a guide for when you are installing Creo Simulate 6.0. Keep in mind:

- You will need a PTC account to download software. If you wish to create an account, look at the guide Create PTC Account found under License and Administration.
- Have the latest software downloaded. Download it on the PTC website after logging in with your PTC account.

11. Step 5a. Application Installation Wait for the program to install and click Finish .

4. Step 1. Welcome to the PTC Installation Assistant Select Install new software and click Next .

5. Step 2. Software License Agreement Accept the terms of the software license agreement and click Next .

7. Step 3A. License Identification – Existing License Drag and drop the existing license file under License Summary

3. Start the Installation Unzip the downloaded media and run the setup.exe as an administrator. The folder structure in the downloaded media should look like this :

10. Step 4. Application Selection Change the installation path to C: \ PTC. Choose the Applications you wish to install .

8. Step 3B. License Identification – Existing License Server Fill in 7788@{server name } in the field under License Summary . Click Next .

9. Step 3C. License Identification – No License File or Server Fill in Sales Order Number (SON) in the field below Simple License Entry . Log in with your PTC account .

If needed : If you are experiencing problems with starting Creo Simulate you may need to add license information to the file feature.dat under: Navigate to the path in Windows Explorer and open the file in a text - editor. Edit the file manually according to the picture below : Save the file when you are done ( File > Save) and try to start Creo Simulate again . C: \ PTC \ Creo 5.0.X.X \ Common Files \ mech \ text \ licensing \ mech

2. Install Creo Simulate 6.0 To be able to install Creo Simulate 6.0 you need to have the installation media ready at hand. To make sure you use the latest version of the program go to the PTC website and check for the latest download . www.ptc.com /support To be able to download the installation media you need a PTC account . See the “ Create a PTC account ” - guide for instructions on how to do that . Have in mind T he Creo naming has changed with the release of Creo Simulate5.0. Example :

6. Step 3. License Identification In this step you will authenticate your license and there are a few different scenarios. Choose the one that is applicable for you : • I have a license file but not a license server installed – go to Step 3A • I have a license server already installed – go to Step 3B • I need to order a license file – go to Step 3C Please note that the Simple License Entry is ONLY for when you need to order a license file !

12. Step 5b. Installation Status Review any warnings in the installation such as ” Completed with warnings ” Warning message Creo installed successfully , but the installer detects that the graphics card ( graphics processing unit ) for this system does not support Creo Simulation Live. Creo Simulation Live relies on the latest graphics processing unit technology to provide its computation and visual experience and requires the following : • A dedicated NVIDIA graphics processing unit card ( Quadro recommended ) based on the Kepler, Maxwell, or Pascal architecture . Most dedicated NVIDIA Graphics Processing Unit cards produced in 2013 or later, are based on one of these architectures . • At least 4GB of video RAM (8GB preferred ) on the Graphics Processing Unit . If you do not intend to use Creo Simulation Live, you can ignore this message .
